REFINISHED REUPHOLSTERED Mid Century Modern Teak Sofa - Bed by Hove Mobler

For sale is a rare vintage Mid-Century Modern sofa/ daybed with a storage compartment convertible into the bed for two by Hove Møbler. Please note, the blue fabric color is much darker than it looks in photos, and is shown on the left side of the first three photos. 

The daybed was in rough shape prior to restoration. We dismantled it completely, fixed and meticulously put it back together. Teak wood parts were stripped, sanded, and refinished with Danish oil with some blemishes remaining.  

The sofa- bed was then upholstered using stain-repellent upholstery fabric by Designtex (see fabric info in photos). Springs were checked. 

Sofa W 76” (60" just seating) x D 29” x Back H 34”(from the floor) x  Seat H 18.5". When converted to the bed, the sleeping area is 56" x 76"(includes extended cushion area). The sofa bed is on the hard side.

The daybed retains an original manufacturer's sticker and patent info: Hove Møbler, Norway, patent 151.224". After some more research we know it was a "model 5", and was exported mainly to the Americas.
