Our Story
Meticulously restored vintage mid-century modern furniture that lasts for generations.
If you've ever stood in your living room, looked at that expensive piece of "vintage" furniture, and felt quietly disappointed — you already know what we went through.
We bought a 1960s house in North York. We were in love with it — the lines, the proportions, the way morning light moved through the rooms. And then we tried to furnish it. That's where everything fell apart.
Every modern piece we brought in looked wrong. Too shiny. Too anonymous. Like furniture from a catalogue that could live in anyone's home, not ours. So we went looking for the real thing — genuine mid-century modern, the pieces that were actually made during that era, in that tradition, with those materials.
What we found was a graveyard of potential. Pieces with loose joints patched with visible screws. Veneers burned off by aggressive sanders and replaced with wood filler. Wobbly chairs re-upholstered over rotting foam and burlap that crumbled when you sat in them. Tables, heavily stained and topped with polyurethane to hide the damages. "Restored" was the word sellers used. Every time we bought "restored" we had to re-do it from the beginning.
So we, Asta and Geddy, decided to figure it out ourselves. Geddy had a carpenter's eye and the patience to do things right. Asta had a design background and an absolute refusal to compromise on finish. We bought tools. We made mistakes. We re-did pieces two, three, four times until they were right.
When our home was finally finished, people who came over were astounded. They'd look around. They'd ask: where did you get that? That question is why we do this now.
We're not a showroom. We're not a flipper. We are two people who love these pieces enough to do the work that most people won't — so that you can walk into a room we've helped fill and feel exactly what we felt the first time our home finally looked like us.

What customers say
They are absolute experts. They took time to explain the refinishing process, answered every question I had, and treated the memories attached to the piece with real care. I didn't just get furniture back — I got something better than I left with.
My absolute favourite store for MCM furniture in the GTA. The best value for freshly restored pieces — full stop. I've looked everywhere.
I bought a beautiful table without seeing it in person. Asta was precise — exact measurements, honest photos, every detail I needed. When it arrived, it was exactly what she described. Better, actually.

Restored to outlast anything you can buy new.
Every piece that comes through our doors gets the same care: work meant to hold for fifty years, and often much longer.
It took a decade to get here — a decade of real, hands-on work, not theory. Joint by joint, veneer by veneer, we learned what these old pieces needed, and we built our craft around giving it to them.
Walk into most vintage furniture shops and you'll find pieces dressed up for a quick sale — a fresh coat of polish over problems that were never actually solved. Buy one, and within months you'll feel the wobble return, hear the joints begin to complain again. We chose a different path. We believe a well-made chair owes the world two lifetimes, at least — so when we find loose joints, we don't paper over them. We take the piece apart entirely. We scrape away every trace of the old glue, patiently, by hand. And then we rebuild the joints as they were always meant to be joined — solid, honest, permanent.
The veneers on genuine mid-century Danish furniture ask for a gentler kind of care. We begin instead with a chemical strip, coaxing the old finish away without violence, and only then do we sand — slowly, with fine papers, listening to what the wood tells us. What's left, when we're finished, is the grain exactly as it was: original, irreplaceable, and unmistakably real.

This is ONLINE store. We do not have a store or showroom, therefore, can not show you everything. We store furniture in different places: the workshop, 3 storage units and all over our house. Please note item dimensions on the website and measure your space carefully before making appointment to see the item. Please also do not hesitate to ask any questions about the furniture prior to visiting or buying online. The pros- you do not pay for the store rent and for personnel.
