REFINISHED Danish Mid Century Modern Metamorphic Teak ‘Elevator’ Table by Kai Kristiansen, 3 Tables in 1

For sale, we have this incredible Danish Mid Century Modern gem: smart, space-saving, 3 options in one - dining/console or coffee table, known as the “Elevator” table.  Made of teak, this gem easily extends on both sides and offers height adjustment to dining height, and seats 6 comfortably. Makers mark on the underside; designed in Denmark in the 1960s by Kai Kristiansen and manufactured by Trioh. The table has been dismantled, parts stripped, sanded, and refinished with Danish oil to brand new condition.

The table can have none, both, or just one leaf extended both in the dining and coffee table options. Converts quickly and easily by lifting or lowering to achieve the correct height then simply pulling out the extension leaf.  It is a wonderful solution for Toronto condos where you only have space for a sofa and coffee table.

The table top is L 59" x D 22.25" + optional leaves, each 9.25".

The table height as the coffee table is 21", and the dining or console table height is 29".

Kai Kristiansen is one of the most innovative and talented Danish designers of the mid 20th century. Kristiansen was born in 1929 and trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. His mentor was the famed father of modern Danish furniture design Kaare Klint. Kristiansen excelled as a cabinetmaker and in 1955 set up his own design workshop. His talent was quickly recognized by some of Denmark's finest cabinet makers and the result is some of the most stunning furniture produced during the mid century era. Today his designs are some of the most highly coveted examples of the mid century furniture to emerge from Denmark.
